I made it safely! My car did super awesomely (THANK YOU, JEFF!!!) and purred like a kitten the entire 1250 or so miles, even up and down Missouri's huge hills!
I will miss you all! The Village was such a huge blessing to me while I lived in Tucson. Especially after attending so many churches in the city that didn't feel like a church "home", it was so nice to come and rest, serve, grow and be challenged in your midst! ROd, Eric and James are some of the most godly and God-honoring pastors I have ever met in my 26 years and 15 times of moving. You should pray for them every day and be so thankful for their steadfast hearts after God's truth-it is hard to find and you have THREE in your midst! And all my dear friends and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ are such genuine, sincere people in their dealings with each other and their determination to live under God's superb grace.
It makes me tear up thinking about how much of God's goodness and love I saw and experienced in your midst and I want to honor you all for that. In the Bible, it says "to give honor to whom honor is due" so I want to recognize how much you all meant to me. God, of course, is due all honor that we could ever give him and more, and that was the aspect of The Village I appreciated the most-that God is honored by your adherence to the soundness and goodness of His word, and God is definitely honored by what you are doing as a community in the city and to the people who visit.
Our Father is honored immensely just in the simple act of taking Him at his word. Often, during the sermons or listening to the scripture saturated music, or hearing someone respond in truth to the sermon, or listening to a friend declare God's promises when I was down, I felt as if the Lord were smiling and saying to the direction of The Village, "Well done, good and faithful servant." He will always bless you for that, because in these days, many churches find it easier to smudge God's Truth for their own purposes.
Wow, I started out just wanting to say that I made it to St. Louis, but then it became a letter meant to encourage you all! I suddenly felt burdened to say it, so hopefully, God will use it to encourage someone. I love you! |
