Thanks, Laelia. It is hard sometimes to praise and to be thankful when we would rather complain. Here is my current list...
1. Times of intense prayer and deep conversation with God.
2. Old friends who call out of the blue just to chat.
3. My mother's eightieth birthday followed by my father-in-law's eightieth birthday. Both of them are such amazing people.
4. Eric. After all these years of working together I still get to see new facets of him and his love for Jesus.
5. Working with Jimmy, Julie, and that wacky intern, Lori. They make me laugh and feel loved and use their amazing gifts in deeply sacrificial ways.
6. The working out of tough issues at Kathy's workplace in such a way that she is smiling again.
7. A neurosurgeon, who everyone says is the absolute best in town, despite his not so great bed side manner. Medical professionals who 'tell it like it is' and who have tears in their eyes when they do.
8. An upcoming road trip with my boys, Justin and Derek, to California. Dodger dogs, sleeping on couches and floors at relative's houses, the San Diego zoo, the beach and ocean... I'm so looking forward to it.
9. June 8. Thirty five years of marriage to Kathy. God has been faithful to us as we have lived out our vows together.
10. The Village and all the things that make it the community I barely dared to dream and hope for.
To God be all glory and praise. He is good indeed!
