As some of you know, my friend Lisa has been working for years with the UA Lunar Planetary Lab (LPL) on the Saturn/Cassini exploration project. She wants everyone to know about the LPL having an educational outreach/shindig, "Titan: World of Mystery," this Saturday the 10th from 5 to 10 pm at LPL, which is on the north end of the UA Mall, west of Flandrau Planetarium. Features include: cake and punch served 5-ish, guest scientific speakers, playdo planet sculpting for kids, and you can walk to Flandrau & look at Jupiter through the cool telescope for a mere $1 donation... If you or your kids have *any* space-geek tendencies :-), if you gave a darn when the space probe got to Cassini (thereby helping Lisa keep her job...thanks God) you might want to check it out! Free parking is available in the garage to the east of the Main Library (on Cherry). I won't be there, because I'll be catching the Indigo Girls @ City Limits w/Emily Mc & Booj.... too many interests, not enough time. |
