See note under "Singlehood Ramblings." Let me know if you're interested. MARRIEDS and KIDS are welcome, by the way. Let me know via answering machine, e-mail, web posting, passenger pigeon, drive-by note taped on the door, or note stuck under the windshield wiper of my car. Or heck, you might even see me this week, if you're in the right place at the wrong time. And pretty much, you all know where to find me, cell phone or no cell phone. I'm methodical enough in my patterns, aren't I?

Wait--those are extinct. Come to think. I mean carrier pigeons. Extinct animals don't make for good liasons. Yes, I'm (still) feeling a little punchy today.

Kathy, Derek, and I go every year. Unfortunately, I'm in Grand Rapids until really late Friday and have to conduct a wedding on Saturday night. Of course, I could come after the wedding or much earlier in the day.

The food is always great. As is the beer and flaming cheese. Take the tour of the church. It is fascinating. An interesting and different perspective on the 'holy catholic church'. Last year we won a door prize - fifty dollars worth of free dry cleaning which always comes in handy for those suits I wear on Sundays for the Village worship services.

Since I don't want to go alone, I'm going with the people who have spoken up for Saturday ;-) If anyone reading this can't make it Saturday, maybe you can organize your own voyage into the land of orthodoxy?

So what time frame are we thinking. Rod, are you serious about coming before the wedding thus making it an afternoon deal? Or what? My preference is going with the Hugans if we can agree on a time. If not, I'd rather go in the late afternoon so that we're hitting dinner time after taking in the sights. Yum! I don't know how big the festival is and how much time it needs. 1.5 or 2 hours? Or how about 1.76 hours?

I just called St. Demetrios. Saturday, the festival runs from 4 pm to 11 pm. Parking is free, and when the St. Demetrios lot fills up, drive south on Mountain several blocks to park at Salpointe High School--between Mountain and Cherry Avenue, south of Glenn Road--and take the free shuttle the church will be running.

Admission is $2 for 13 and up, free for kids 12 and under. Bring money for Greek food!! And maybe for Greek beer, if we're to take Rod's posting to heart. I'm excited about the flaming cheese. (It sounds a little scary, in a good way... I'm open to trying all things cheese at least once in my lifetime.)

Further questions? Call St. Demetrios, (520) 888-0505. They're on the north side of Ft. Lowell, between Mountain and 1st Avenue.

When do y'all want to head over there? I could just meet you there. Maybe I'll walk from my apartment, since it's less than a mile, and I can always get someone to drive me home later ;-)
