My sister came across this link and forwarded it to me. Like me, she was raised by Christian parents, but unlike me, hasn't been following Christ since high school... her comment: "These people need to get a life seriously."
I suppose the F on the F folks "mean well," but in their grand quest to fight supposed cultural evil in the form of goofball cartoons (I have seen SpongeBob, and it's no more sexual than, say, "Sesame Street," pink sidekick or no...), what are they neglecting? What stumbling blocks are they dropping in the path of so many (like my sister)? Is it just me who gets irritated by this kind of thing? It's true that this blog is coming from someone who saw the film of "Last Temptation of Christ" in 1989 just to see what the picketing was all about... was the theater boycotting justified or not? My vote: it really wasn't. Hmmm....
Maybe I'm feeling defensive because of my Sponge Bob seatbelt "cushion" (I don't know what else to call it...but I'm shorter than average and it keeps the dang thing from chafing my neck). |
