I'm gonna keep this blog light on the theology and the intensity. But if you want you know me, the music I love is a big part of the intensity of me.
For my birthday this weekend, my sister Diane bought tickets and paid for a hotel; we're seeing Tim & Neil Finn play at a club in San Juan Capistrano. (Where I went with some o' the Village women a couple of years back... SJC, of course, not the club) Check 'em out at /www.finnbros.com/ You might (if you're a Gen Xer) remember their first band Split Enz, or their second band, Crowded House ("Better Be Home Soon" still gets played on 92.9). Diane and I saw 'em playing in Hollywood back in '93...Sheryl Crow *opened* for them ;-) Diane and I saw Neil Finn a year and a half ago at L.A.'s House of Blues... great show, but why do I *ALWAYS* get stuck behind the tall men, durnit??!?? Why *do* you guys have to grow so durn tall? Oh well, I guess I'll have to deal...
One of the things I do enjoy about being single & childless is my freedom to do this live music escapade more often than once in a great while. So it seems like a good way to take a vacation from the mid-30s blues. "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em."
For all you Crabbians, don't know what circle I'm filling this weekend, but it's a good one: inspired music...beloved sister...secondhand smoke?? OK, like being short and being single, I reckon I'll just deal with the latter ;-) |
